St. Louis CITY SC Academy defender Tyson Pearce has been called-up to the Under-16 U.S. Men’s Youth National Team (MYNT) and will participate in the team’s domestic training camp, which runs from January 4 through January 13 in Tampa, Florida.
“Tyson had a great fall season. He is a great example of what the rewards of hard work and commitment can be,” said Dale Schilly, St. Louis CITY SC Academy Director. “We could not be more thrilled that he has been called up to the U-16 national team. This will be a great experience for him and hopefully we see similar opportunities awarded to more players moving forward.”
Pearce will look to build on the impressive performances during the U-17 team’s Generation adidas Cup qualifying matches in December. His selection makes him the fourth player to be called-up to a youth national team in the Academy’s young history, joining midfielder Aaron Heard, defender Fritz Volmar, and forward Caden Glover as players who have received national team callups.
