St Louis CITY2 fell 2-0 to Austin FC II in its final match of the regular season on Sunday night at Energizer Park. Austin FC II forward Ibrahima Sall opened the scoring in the 17th minute, sending the visitors into halftime with a 1-0 lead. Following the halftime break, Austin FC II doubled its lead in the 63rd minute through Diego Abarca. 

The result secured CITY2 as the seventh seed in the MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs. The team’s playoff opponent and match date will be announced at a later date following the MLS NEXT Pro Pick Your Opponent Call on Wednesday, September 23 at 3:00 p.m. CT.
