Last Time Out

St. Louis CITY SC earned a 1-0 shutout win against Colorado Rapids last Saturday, extending their unbeaten streak to seven in the MLS regular season. CITY SC found the breakthrough when Tomás Ostrák scored the game-winning goal in the 87th minute, netting his first MLS goal of the season off assists from Tomas Totland and Timo Baumgartl. Ostrák’s goal was also voted AT&T Goal of the Matchday for Matchday 18. With the win on Saturday, St. Louis won the regular season series against the Rapids and moved to seventh in the Western Conference standings.

Continuing the Streak

With the win, CITY SC extended its club-record unbeaten streak to seven matches and has now won four consecutive games. The 1-0 victory also marked Roman Bürki's second clean sheet of the season and the club's third overall in 2026. Tomas Totland continued his strong run of form, recording game-winning assists in back-to-back matches. Following their performances, both Totland and Tomas Ostrák were named to the MLS Team of the Matchday for Matchday 18.

STL-RSL Connection

Defender Jaziel Orozco began his professional career with Real Monarchs in 2021 before signing a homegrown contract with Real Salt Lake. Orozco made his MLS debut in March 2022 at 18 years old. Orozco scored his first MLS goal last season against Nashville SC in a 3-1 win at home. The Mexican American defender signed a new contract with CITY earlier this month, keeping him in St. Louis through the 2028-29 season.

St. Louis CITY SC vs. Real Salt Lake

CITY SC is seeking its first win over Real Salt Lake since the clubs' inaugural meeting in March 2023, when CITY earned a 4-0 victory in Salt Lake. The two sides last met in the 2025 regular-season finale, playing to a 2-2 draw. Each of the last five meetings has featured goals from both teams, with neither side keeping a clean sheet. CITY is also searching for its first home victory against RSL at Energizer Park, having gone winless in its first three matches at home against RSL.

Scouting Real Salt Lake

RSL sits in fourth place in the Western Conference just one point ahead of St. Louis with 26 points. Salt Lake has struggled on the road this season, picking up one win while dropping five matches. RSL has lost three of their last four away matches this year. Forward Sergi Solans and midfielder Zavier Gozo lead the team with six goals apiece, while forward Morgan Guilavogui has a team-leading six assists. Last weekend, RSL fell 2-1 to the Portland Timbers at Providence Park, with forward Juan Sanabria scoring the lone goal.
