After shutting out Real Monarchs, St Louis CITY2 (9-2-2, 30 points) look to continue their winning ways on Saturday against Colorado Rapids 2 (3-8-2,12 points). Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CST at Ralph Korte Stadium in Edwardsville, Ill., and can be seen live on mlsnextpro.com.

CITY2 captured a 2-0 win last weekend to extend their unbeaten streak to seven games, keeping them level at the summit of the Western Conference standings with North Texas SC. Defender Kyle Hiebert scored his first professional goal to hand CITY2 the lead, before Akil Watts found the top corner for his fourth of the season.

CITY2’s incredible form means they have remained unbeaten in their last seven games (5-0-2), outscoring their opponents by a combined score of 17-5, during the same period.

Rapids 2 enter the match sitting in ninth position in the Western Conference. Rapids 2 have struggled on the road this campaign, losing six of their seven away games with their only road win coming in last weekend’s comeback against Portland Timbers 2, where they ran away with a 4-2 victory. Both teams met earlier this season, with CITY2 earning a shootout victory over a Rapids 2 team that fielded a full senior team starting XI.

CITY2 goalkeeper Michael Creek had an outstanding performance when the teams last met, saving the first shot in the shootout win to set the tone for the team. Creek carried over his form into the last game, recording five saves to earn his second clean sheet of his CITY2 career. Hiebert has played in all 13 matches so far for CITY2 this season, logging the maximum 1170 minutes in the process. Hiebert was the man of the match against Real Monarchs and has tallied six clean sheets on the season.

CITY2 hope to maintain their perfect record at Ralph Korte Stadium (3-0-0) as they continue their battle for first place at the top of the Western Conference standings.
