St Louis CITY2 Continues Five-Match Road Trip on Sunday at San Jose  


Following a convincing 4-1 victory at Vancouver last Sunday, St Louis CITY2 continues their five-match road trip on Sunday night against San Jose Earthquakes II. Kickoff between CITY2 and Earthquakes 2 is at 9 p.m. CST at PayPal Park in San Jose, California. The match can be seen live on  

CITY2 continued their strong away form, tallying their league-leading sixth road victory of the season and remain the only team in the conference to have only dropped three points once on the road. During this impressive road form, CITY2 has outscored their opponents, 19-10, tallied three clean sheets, and have allowed one goal or less six of the eight matches. CITY2 offense on the road has seen nine different goal scorers and nine assist makers with Josh Dolling leading the goal-scoring group with four and Akil Watts and Ezra Armstrong leading the assist getters with three assists each. 

CITY2 has scored first in 13 of their 19 matches this season and have tallied a 9-2-2 mark in those matches while compiling eight clean sheets and outscoring their opponent, 29-7. When CITY2 falls behind early in the match they are 3-3-0 and edge their opponents in scoring, 14-13. In just their second matches played for CITY2, Brazilian striker João Klauss and Czech midfielder Tomáš Ostrák connected for their first points at St Louis. Klauss was able to dish off to Ostrak, who scored his first goal for CITY2 last Sunday. 

CITY2 and San Jose last clashed at on May 29 at Hermann Stadium on the campus of St. Louis University, which concluded in a 1-1 draw with the 4-3 edge going to Earthquakes 2 in penalty shootout. San Jose is 3-2 in their last five matches, having scored multiple goals in all three wins. Earthquakes 2 are 4-3-2 at PayPal Park with their last match coming to a 2-0 loss at the hands of Tacoma Defiance.
