St. Louis CITY’s U16 team added another win to their record, after defeating Michigan Jaguars 5-3 in MLS NEXT action. The boys started the game on the front foot and took the lead in the ninth minute following a great finish from Caden Glover. That lead only lasted until the 24th minute after the Jaguars scored off a counterattack. The team remained focused and continued dictating the flow of the game after the goal. Following a spell of crisp passing in the 40th minute, the boys grabbed their second goal through a Edin Prgo shot from close range - giving STL CITY the lead at halftime.

STL CITY came out hot in the second half and scored their third goal seconds into the restart after Jackson Delkus rolled a pass across the goal for Glover to tap home. After the goal, STL CITY looked like they would run away with it, but the Jaguars scored two goals in five minutes to level the score. With both squads looking for the go-ahead goal, the game’s intensity picked up and both teams created numerous goal scoring opportunities.

STL CITY would eventually retake the lead in the 75th minute after Jack Dimaria headed home from a corner kick. Michigan Jaguars made a final push to salvage something from the match, but it was Glover who notched his hat-trick and STL CITY’s fifth goal to seal another home win for the U16 squad.

The U16s will be back in action next weekend when they travel to face Shattuck St. Mary's (Minnesota) on April 10.
