Looking to rebound after having their seven-match unbeaten run come to an end their last time out, St Louis CITY2 (5-2-2, 18 points) returns to CITYPARK for a clash with The Town FC (3-2-4, 15 points) on Sunday, May 26. The match will kick off at 6:00 p.m. CT and will stream on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app.

CITY2 and TTFC will be squaring off for the first time this season. St. Louis had the upper hand in their regular season meetings last season, drawing Town FC on the road before earning a home victory. However, then-San Jose Earthquakes II eliminated CITY2 from the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs when the two sides met in the Conference Quarterfinals. CITY2 is 2-1-2 against TTFC in five all-time matchups across all competitions, having never lost to them in regular season play.

Sunday’s contest will be CITY2’s second match of the week after the team fell 2-0 in Houston on Wednesday. Dynamo Dos took control early after scoring in the 12th minute and then added an insurance goal in the 63rd minute to seal their victory. It was just the first time CITY2 did not score in a regular season match since July 9, 2023.

The midweek match against Houston offered an opportunity for players to break into the starting lineup. Oscar Benitez, Dida Armstrong and Nolan McGuire all made their first starts for CITY2 this season.

At CITYPARK this season, CITY2 is 2-1-2 (9 points) and is currently riding a four-match unbeaten streak. Over that four-match span, the team has conceded just three goals. St. Louis’ dominance at home dates back to last season, as the team has earned points in nine of its last ten regular season matches at CITYPARK.

In those five home matches this season, CITY2 has scored at least one goal each time, including finding the back of the net twice in each of their last two home contests. Mykhi Joyner has been a key factor in that regard, as the forward has netted a goal in the team’s last two matches at CITYPARK.

TTFC will look to extend an unbeaten streak of their own this weekend having gone unbeaten over their last three matches, including a 0-0 draw with LAFC2 in their most recent match. On the road this season, the team is currently 2-2-1 (7 points). Offensively, the team is led by midfielder Eduardo Blancas Maravilla, whose three goals and 23 key passes are both team highs.
