Having earned points in five consecutive matches, St Louis CITY2 (3-4-5, 18 points) looks to remain in form as they stay on the road for a clash with Huntsville City FC (1-6-3, 9 points) at Joe Davis Stadium in Huntsville, Alabama, on Sunday, June 11. The match will kick off at 6:00 p.m. CT and will be streamed on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app.

Sunday’s contest will be the first-ever meeting between CITY2 and Huntsville and CITY2’s first meeting with an Eastern Conference opponent this season. After dropping their first two matches as the away side this season, CITY2 is now 2-0-1 (8 points) over their last three road games, winning their last two. The team enters the match having scored two goals in each of the last five games. Meanwhile, Huntsville City FC boasts a 1-2-0 record at home this season, with their lone win coming against Eastern Conference-leading Crown Legacy FC.

In their win over Tacoma Defiance on Monday, CITY2 took control early in the match after scoring two goals in a four-minute stretch. Forward Caden Glover notched his second goal of the season when he buried the rebound off a blocked shot in the 10th minute, and then minutes later midfielder John Klein converted off a beautiful pass from midfielder Wan Kuzain that split two defenders to feed Klein on a run into the box. Tacoma came out swinging in the second half, but goalkeeper Christian Olivares made a few saves in high-pressure situations to keep the home side from gaining momentum, sealing the victory.

The first-half goals from Glover and Klein against Tacoma continued a trend for CITY2 this season, as the team has scored 12 of its 16 total goals in the first half. Kuzain has been a key distributor on CITY2’s goal-scoring plays, with his three (3) assists on the year tied for eleventh-most in MLS NEXT Pro.

Huntsville City FC suffered a crushing home loss to New York City FC II their last time out, taking a 3-0 lead by the 35th minute only to have NYCFC II pour in four unanswered goals and secure a 4-3 comeback win. The team is led by midfielder Azaad Liadi, who has a team-high four (4) goals thus far, and midfielders Kemy Amiche and Jonathan Bolanos, both of whom rank in the top-20 in key passes in MLS NEXT Pro.
