St. Louis CITY SC will continue their regular season action against Inter Miami on Saturday at Chase Stadium. The match will kick off at 6:30 p.m. CT and will be streamed live on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app and broadcasted via radio on KYKY Y98.1 FM (English) and KXOK 102.9 FM (Spanish).
St. Louis and Inter Miami have only squared off once in the team’s history with CITY SC earning a 3-0 win at CITYPARK last season. Sam Adeniran, Tim Parker and Eduard Löwen all etched their name on the scoresheet in that match, with Indiana Vassilev and Aziel Jackson recording one assist each.
Despite only allowing one shot on target in their last match against Seattle Sounders, CITY SC fell 2-1 on the night. It was the seventh time (in 14 games) this season that CITY SC held their opponent to three or fewer shots on target. Defender Tomas Totland scored his second goal of the season, off an assist from Löwen. The two combined for St. Louis’ first-ever goal against Seattle Sounders in three matches played.
Totland is the only right back with two goals in the league so far this season. The defender has also chipped in with two assists for CITY SC. Löwen, who missed nine games this season, now has one goal and three assists in five matches this season. The assist was his first goal contribution since March 9.
St. Louis has tallied the fifth most shot attempts (238) in the league and has conceded the least number of shots on target in the league (51). St. Louis CITY SC has recorded more shots and shots on target than their opponent in nine of 14 MLS matches this season.
St. Louis will be looking for their first away win of the season, after going 0-2-4 on the road to start the season. St. Louis has a 6-4-1 all-time record against Eastern Conference teams. So far this season, St. Louis has a 2-1-1 record against Eastern Conference teams with victories over Chicago Fire (3-1) and NYCFC (2-0) earlier in the season. St. Louis has scored 10 goals in six away matches this season, earning at least a point in four of those contests.
Inter Miami enters the match with a record of 10-3-4, with 35 goals scored and 24 conceded through 17 matches. In their last match, The Herons tasted defeat at home against an Atlanta United team that was winless in their last nine regular season matches before facing Miami. The match finished 3-1, moving Miami’s home record to 5-2-2. Their only other defeat at home was against Montreal on March 10.
