What is the St. Louis CITY SC Academy?

The St. Louis CITY SC Academy is a world-class boys professional development academy seeking to develop top soccer talent around the St. Louis region and beyond. St. Louis CITY SC Academy intends to be the best youth soccer development program in North America, representing the highest level of training and competition for boys aspiring to play soccer at the highest levels, including professionally in the United States and across the world.

St. Louis CITY SC will pay for all fees and expenses for the St. Louis CITY SC Academy program participation.

What kind of players are right for St. Louis CITY SC Academy?

We are looking for players who are willing to commit to a rigorous, year-round program that not only provides its players with the best innovations in coaching, training, and health and wellness technologies but also fosters a strong emphasis on teamwork, education and self-growth. St. Louis CITY SC Academy will prepare players with the opportunity to play at the highest levels of youth soccer.

What age groups are eligible to be part of St. Louis SC Academy?

St. Louis City SC Academy is comprised of U15, U16, U17 and U20 teams.  The teams compete in the MLS Next Academy League at U15, U16, U17 and the UPSL Men's League at U20.  The competitive platforms are selected to prepare players for potential MLS Next Pro and MLS competition.

Why are only boys in the St. Louis CITY SC Academy?

Players who are part of the St. Louis CITY SC Academy compete in the MLS Next competition, which is at this point, an all-boys development league. St. Louis CITY SC does believe that soccer should be accessible to all kids who want to play. Through our CITY Futures program, we host community soccer programs open to boys and girls, as well as providing coaching resources and support for girls’ and boys’ coaches around the region.

Where will St. Louis CITY SC Academy development players train?

St. Louis City SC Academy trains at the State of the art Washington University Orthopedics High Performance Center adjacent to the stadium.  The clubs has two manicured grass practice fields and one brand new turf field.

How can players and families join the St. Louis CITY SC Academy?

Players are identified for potential inclusion in the program through scouting, recommendations, closed invitational trial and open community trials. We believe that true talent can be found all throughout our region from every neighborhood, and we invite all those with passion and dedication to attend one of our open trials.

Once identified as a potential Academy participant, the player and family will be notified by our coaching staff.

Can an St. Louis CITY SC Academy player still play for his high school or club team?

Once selected and accepted into the St. Louis CITY SC Development Academy, players are not permitted to play for their high school or club soccer teams. Academy training and competition is immersive and requires deep commitment from players who are ready to take their skills and training to the top level.
