St. Louis CITY SC has found its “homegrown player” to represent the team on the virtual pitch for the 2021 eMLS season. After hosting two virtual scouting tournaments for Major League Soccer’s competitive EA Sports FIFA league, the Club is excited to announce the signing of Hasib Zulfic as our first-ever eMLS player!

Zulfic was born in Zenica, Bosnia & Herzegovina, but moved to the United States a year later. By age 5, he and his family had settled in St. Louis where Zulfic grew up playing soccer with the St. Louis Dragons and other youth clubs. He began to play FIFA in 2008 and is currently ranked in FIFA Ultimate Team Champions – a Top 10 player in the America’s Region and a Top 100 Worldwide Player.

“Getting the opportunity to represent my hometown for the upcoming eMLS season is truly a dream-come-true,” said Zulfic. “I love everything this club represents for the St. Louis community on-and-off the pitch and I can’t wait for the season to start so I can try to snag the first trophy for CITY and all the amazing fans.”

With CITY’s historic inaugural MLS season still two years away, the club is looking forward to joining the 2021 eMLS season on the virtual pitch. eMLS has been a groundbreaking platform sitting at the intersection of gaming and soccer culture. And after its initial launch just two years ago, the 2020 eMLS Cup drew an impressive 2.6 million views.

The complete eMLS 2021 schedule and more eMLS Cup details, including player announcements and tournament structure, will be shared as the season approaches.

We can’t wait to see Hasib take the virtual pitch wearing that St. Louis CITY crest!
