CITY SC vs. Houston Dynamo to kick off at 7:30 p.m
St. Louis CITY SC is turning up the volume for Tina Turner Night presented by SeatGeek when the club takes on Houston Dynamo at Energizer Park on Saturday, August 22.
Tina Turner Night is part of CITY SCās continued celebration of its Tina Kit, the first adidas collaboration with a female music artist on a soccer kit. Tina Turner Night will be a full takeover paying tribute to the global superstarās legacy and her ties to St. Louis, from the free CITY Block Party featuring performances by the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra (SLSO), āThe Voiceā alum and St. Louisan Kennedy Holmes, and students from the Center of Creative Arts (COCA), to CITY players taking the pitch in the Tina Kit and fans receiving an exclusive Tina-centric matchday giveaway.
Tickets to Tina Turner Night are available at www.stlcitysc.com.
CITYās celebration of Turner also goes beyond matchday: Beginning August 22, fans can stream CITY SC and SLSOās Eternal: A Tribute to Tina Turner on Apple TV and listen to the tracks on Apple Music, bringing the concert, which features performances of Turnerās greatest hits by GRAMMY Award-winning artist Brittany Howard of Alabama Shakes, Holmes and more, to a worldwide audience.
āAn icon like Tina Turner deserves an iconic celebration, and we are ecstatic to bring her music and her story to Energizer Park for a high-energy night that is all for Tina,ā said Matt Sebek, Chief Experience Officer, St. Louis CITY SC. āThis is going to be a really special evening for CITY fans and music lovers, and we canāt wait to share what weāve been cooking up alongside our friends at the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, Kennedy Holmes and COCA to honor Tina.
āThrough our partnership with Apple TV and Apple Music, we have a unique opportunity to take Eternal beyond St. Louis and share Tinaās story and legacy with people across the globe,ā Sebek added.
Born Anna Mae Bullock, Tina Turner moved to St. Louis at 16, where she found her voice performing in clubs across the region before becoming a global force ā redefining performance, style, and female power on her own terms.
CITY Block Party Featuring the SLSO, Kennedy Holmes and COCA Students
CITY SC kicks off Tina Turner Night with the free CITY Block Party on Lou Fusz Plaza. The party starts at 4:30 p.m. with family-friendly games and activities, local food and drink, and live DJ entertainment from Stazi.
At 5:30 p.m., COCA students will take the stage for a special medley of Turnerās most popular songs, including āProud Maryā and āThe Best.ā The students are currently enrolled in a Tina Turner-focused music curriculum developed in partnership with CITY SC, with a portion of sales proceeds from the Tina Kit helping fund this initiative. Students have been exploring Turnerās lasting influence and learning songs from her repertoire.
āThis fusion of sports and the arts is a really cool opportunity for us to highlight our artistic approach to how we celebrate Tina Turner, the amazing work she has done, and share COCAās artistry with CITY fans,ā said COCAās Artistic Director of Voice and Director of Camps Dr. Philip A. Woodmore, who is leading the program and also will be recognized as an Enterprise Exceptional Neighbor during the match. āWe are so grateful to CITY for this unique partnership and are excited to share what weāve been working on.ā
Then at 6:00 p.m., itās SLSOās turn to honor Turner. Vocalists Holmes and Tamika Lawrence will join SLSO musicians for a powerful mini tribute concert you wonāt want to miss, live from the Block Party stage.

Led by SLSO Music Director StĆ©phane DenĆØve and guest conductor Anthony Parnther (whose credits include the soundtracks toĀ TenetĀ andĀ Black Panther: Wakanda Forever), the concert featured GRAMMY Award-winning artist Brittany Howard of Alabama Shakes, Holmes and more vocalists, bridging classical music, rock and modern soul in a way that mirrors Turnerās genre-defying career.
