St. Louis CITY SC added forward Brendan McSorley to the first-team roster on a short-term loan agreement from St Louis CITY2 ahead of tonight’s match against Orlando City SC at Energizer Park. This marks McSorley’s third appearance on the first team roster this season. McSorley played 26 minutes off the bench during his last call-up against the Portland Timbers.
The Randolph, New Jersey native has continued to impress in MLS NEXT Pro, recording four goals and a team-leading three assists in 13 matches for CITY2 this season.
Per MLS roster rules, short-term agreements allow clubs to temporarily add players from their MLS NEXT Pro affiliates for league matches, the U.S. Open Cup, Concacaf Champions Cup, Canadian Championship, and exhibitions. Players may be named to up to four MLS matchday rosters and can appear in up to two MLS regular-season games on short-term loans.
