Fans encouraged to bring gently used clothing and shoes to help power Goodwill’s mission during CITY SC’s match against LA Galaxy
St. Louis CITY SC and MERS Goodwill are teaming up for a special donation drive ahead of CITY SC’s home match against LA Galaxy on Saturday, June 14, where Goodwill will serve as the Presenting Partner.
Before heading through the gates at Energizer Park, fans are invited to donate new or gently used clothing, shoes, and other small items at designated drop-off zones outside the stadium entry points starting at 12:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. No furniture or large items, please.
Each donation will directly support Goodwill’s mission of transforming lives through the power of work, helping individuals across Missouri to build brighter futures.
“Hosting this donation drive is a perfect example of how we bring our community partnerships to life,” said Ken Earley, Director of Community Relations for St. Louis CITY SC. “By giving fans an easy, meaningful way to donate, we’re not just collecting items, we’re creating real opportunities for people across our region to give back to those in need with our partners at MERS Goodwill.”
All fans who donate on-site will be able to enter to win a CITY kit signed by a player.
MERS Goodwill, one of Missouri’s largest nonprofit organizations, helps individuals overcome barriers to employment through job training, placement, and career support. Every shirt, pair of shoes, or accessory donated on matchday helps fund these vital programs for veterans, people with disabilities, young adults, and others working to get back on their feet.
“We’re incredibly proud to sponsor today’s matchday game with St. Louis CITY SC,” said Mark Arens, President and CEO of MERS Goodwill. “This is more than just a partnership—it’s a chance to connect with our community in a powerful way. We’re inviting fans to bring their new and gently used clothing and household items right to the game, where we’ll have donation stations set up. These donations fuel our mission, helping us provide free job training, education programs, and employment services across the region. Today’s game is the perfect platform to show that Goodwill is more than a thrift store—we’re a community resource creating opportunities and changing lives.”
This drive reflects a shared commitment to uplifting local communities and expanding access to meaningful employment opportunities. By encouraging fans to donate on matchday, CITY SC and MERS Goodwill are turning game-day energy into tangible impact for individuals and families across the state.
