St. Louis CITY SC has acquired 20-year-old defender Tahir Reid-Brown from Orlando City SC in exchange for $150,000 in 2027 General Allocation Money (GAM). Orlando City could receive up to an additional $300,000 in conditional GAM if certain performance-based metrics are met and will also retain a percentage in any future transfer of Reid-Brown. The U.S. Youth International defender is signed through December 2027, with a club option through December 2028.
“Tahir is a really exciting addition for us, especially from a development standpoint. He has a unique profile and a combination of tools that we believe can translate at the MLS level,” said CITY SC Sporting Director Corey Wray. “He’s still early in his career but we are excited about the opportunity to help him develop in both our first team and CITY2 environments where he can continue to reach his potential.”
Reid-Brown joins CITY SC after developing within Orlando City’s system since 2020. The Orlando, Florida, native began his time with the club’s Academy before signing a first team contract as a Homegrown player in January 2024.
Reid-Brown made nine appearances for Orlando City’s first team across all competitions, making his MLS debut against Inter Miami CF on March 2, 2025. Before joining the first team, he recorded 65 appearances and two goals for Orlando City B. He made his professional debut as a second-half substitute against Philadelphia Union II on March 26, 2023, and scored his first professional goal against Inter Miami CF II on April 15, 2025.
Reid-Brown has also represented the United States at multiple youth international levels, including the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup, as well as appearances with the U.S. U-19 and U-20 Men’s National Teams.
