St. Louis CITY SC tallied four finalists for the 2023 MLS Year-End awards. The four finalists from St. Louis are Head Coach Bradley Carnell, captain and goalkeeper Roman Bürki, vice-captain and defender Tim Parker and midfielder Eduard Löwen.

Carnell is one of three finalists for the Sigi Schmid MLS Coach of the Year. He is joined by FC Cincinnati’s Pat Noonan and Columbus’s Wilfried Nancy. Carnell led St. Louis to a 17-12-5 overall mark, 56 points and first-place finish in the Western Conference. The 17 wins were the most by an expansion team and the western conference regular-season title was the first time an expansion team finished at the top in their respective conference. The 56 points were tied for the second most by an expansion team, falling one point shy of LAFC’s 2018 mark of 57.

The Sigi Schmid MLS Coach of the Year winner will be announced on November 21 at 9 a.m. CT.

Bürki was voted a finalist for Allstate MLS Goalkeeper of the Year alongside FC Cincinnati’s Roman Celentano and Orlando City’s Pedro Gallese. The Swiss goalie owned the league’s top mark with plus-9.1 Post-Shot Expected Goals minus Goals Allowed and finished second in MLS in saves with 123. He had three matches with at least eight saves made and a season-best 12 against the Colorado Rapids.

The Allstate MLS Goalkeeper of the Year winner will be announced on November 9 at 9 a.m. CT.

Löwen joined Giorgos Gioakoumakis of Atlanta United and Lionel Messi of Inter Miami as a finalist for the MLS Newcomer of the Year award. The German midfielder had a career-best season in both goals and assists with six goals and 14 assists in league play. His 14 assists sit tied-for fourth in the league. Löwen tallied two matches with at least three assists and CITY SC is 13-0-0 when he tallied a goal or an assist.

The MLS Newcomer of the Year winner will be announced on November 2 at 9 a.m. CT.

Parker is one of three finalists for the MLS Defender of the Year. Alongside Parker as a finalist for defender of the year is Seattle’s Yeimar Gómez Andrade and FC Cincinnati’s Matt Miazga. He tallied a career best four goals, including St. Louis’s first-ever goal against Austin FC in the season opener. Parker helped anchor a CITY SC backline to eight shutouts this year.

The MLS Defender of the Year winner will be announced on November 8 at 9 a.m. CT.
