COMMERCE CITY, CO (AUGUST 8, 2026) - St Louis CITY2 won 3-1 in the penalty shootout following a 0-0 regulation draw at Colorado Rapids 2, earning two points on Saturday night. Following regulation, CITY2’s Colin Welsh made three saves, while Zack Lillington, Chris Pearson, and Zach Zengue converted their penalty kicks to secure the extra point. With the result, St. Louis moved into fifth place in the MLS NEXT Pro Western Conference standings with 35 points.
CITY2 will head to San Jose Earthquakes II next Sunday, August 16, with kickoff set for 9:30 p.m. CT at San Jose State University.
