St Louis CITY2 picked up a 2-0 shutout win over North Texas SC on Wednesday night at Energizer Park. Emil Jääskeläinen got CITY2 on the board in the 15th minute, scoring his second goal of the season. Before halftime, Matteo Kidd tallied his second goal of the season from a combination play between Jay Reid and Brendan McSorley. CITY2 maintained their 2-0 lead into the second half, resulting in their fifth shutout of the year. St Louis moved into second place in MLS NEXT Pro Western Conference standings, surpassing North Texas SC with 23 points. CITY2 will hit the road to face Colorado Rapids 2 on Sunday, June 15 at 7:00 p.m. CT.
