Colorado responded with two goals to take the 2-1 lead in the second half, but Mykhi Joyner leveled the match in the 81st minute, scoring from the penalty spot. After regulation, the match went into a penalty shootout as Christian Olivares made a crucial save, and Brendan McSorley buried the game winning penalty kick to give CITY2 the two extra points. With the win, CITY2 maintains a firm grip atop the MLS NEXT Pro overall standings with 48 points. St Louis CITY2 faces North Texas SC for the final time this season next Saturday, August 16 at 7:45 p.m. CT at Choctaw Stadium.
