St. Louis CITY SC defeated Eastern Conference opponents Nashville SC 3-1 on Saturday night at Energizer Park. Jaziel Orozco opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, tallying his first career MLS goal. JoĆ£o Klauss found the back of the net for St. Louis in the 39th minute off a feed from Eduard Lƶwen to put CITY SC 2-0 up going into halftime. In the second half, newcomer Sangbin Jeong scored his first goal with St. Louis, adding to CITY’s lead. Nashville’s Hany Mukhtar scored a penalty late in the match, but it wasn’t enough to alter the result on the night. Tonight’s win improved CITY SC’s home record against Eastern Conference opponents to 6-2-2. St. Louis CITY SC heads to SeatGeek Stadium as they face Chicago Fire FC on Saturday, August 16 at 7:30 p.m. CT.
