St. Louis CITY SC defeated San Jose Earthquakes 2-1 on Saturday at PayPal Park. Sam Adeniran put CITY SC in the lead heading into halftime after heading home Rasmus Alm’s corner kick in the 41st minute. Jamiro Monteiro found the equalizer two minutes into the second half for the Earthquakes, but Adeniran converted the game winning penalty in the 58th minute to give CITY the three points.

Adeniran’s First MLS Goals
Adeniran featured in four matches this season for CITY SC before he was loaned to USL Championship side San Antonio FC. In his first match back for CITY SC, Adeniran found the back of the net in the 41st minute, scoring his first career MLS goal. The forward added to his tally after converting a penalty in the 58th minute.
