Match Report | St. Louis CITY SC Drops Hard-Fought Battle to Minnesota United

JT2_2682

St. Louis CITY SC fell 2-1 to Minnesota United FC on Saturday night at Energizer Park. CITY came out aggressive, earning three corner kicks by the third minute and controlling much of the first half. That pressure paid off in the 36th minute, when Eduard Löwen buried a penalty kick after Tomáš Ostrák was fouled in the box. Minnesota responded after the break with two second-half penalty goals to flip the scoreline and take all three points. CITY SC will return to action on Wednesday, July 30, in an international friendly against Premier League side Aston Villa. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. CT at Energizer Park.
