St. Louis CITY SC fell 4-1 on the road against Seattle Sounders FC on Saturday night at Lumen Field. CITY SC opened the scoring in the 29th minute as Marcel Hartel notched his second goal of the season from the penalty spot. Four minutes later, Seattle’s Albert Rusnák scored a penalty kick to make it 1-1. In the second half, the Sounders scored three unanswered goals to earn the 4-1 victory and pick up three points.
St. Louis will begin a busy week of action at Energizer Park on Wednesday, May 7 at 7:00 p.m. CT as they begin their U.S. Open Cup journey with a Round of 32 matchup against USL League One side, Union Omaha. CITY SC will then take on San Diego FC for the second time this season on Saturday, May 10 at 7:30 p.m. CT.
