Opening their season with a draw and loss, St Louis CITY2 will look to earn their first victory when they host Houston Dynamo 2 at CITYPARK on Friday, April 7. Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m. CT, and the match will be televised on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app.

CITY2 and Houston Dynamo 2 split their two regular season fixtures last season, with the home team winning in each match. Neither team scored as the away side in either of these two matches. In their initial meeting in June, CITY2 won 2-0, but Houston responded when the teams met later in September with a 1-0 victory.

On the first Matchday of the season, CITY2 forward Mykhi Joyner struck the equalizer in second-half stoppage time to secure a point against Tacoma Defiance. Last week, despite midfielder Akil Watts’ header giving CITY2 an early lead, fouls allowed their opponents – Minnesota United FC 2 – back into the game. With CITY2 defender Josh Mayer forced out of the match in the 65th minute after receiving his second yellow card, Minnesota took advantage of having one more player on the pitch and netted three goals in the remaining time en route to a 3-1 win.

Houston Dynamo 2 also enters the match seeking their first win of the season. Against Austin FC II in week one, Houston took a 1-0 lead before conceding two goals as the game progressed and falling 2-1. They seemed poised to beat Colorado Rapids 2 in their matchup last week after scoring early on, but two late goals from the opposing side left Houston without their first win of the season.

With both teams looking to secure their first victory, fans should expect an entertaining matchup. Single-match tickets are available for $13, with group sales (20 or more) going for $10. To purchase tickets for the home fixture against Houston Dynamo 2 or CITY2 season packages, visit seatgeek.com.
