Match Preview | St Louis CITY2 Travels to Western Canada to Take on Whitecaps FC 2 


St Louis CITY2 (10-2-2, 33 points) will head up north to Canada for a showdown with Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 (7-4-3, 25 points). The match will kick off at 6:00 p.m. CT on Sunday, June 30 at Swangard Stadium in Burnaby, British Columbia and will be streamed on mlsnextpro.com.

The two teams will be facing off against each other for the first time this season. The club's most recent meeting was last season with CITY2 winning 1-0. CITY2 has a 2-0-1 record against the Whitecaps. St Louis is on a five-game win streak and are currently undefeated in the month of June. St Louis has played comfortably not only at home but also on the road, earning five away wins this season which leads the league. St Louis will look to make it six wins in a row on Sunday after earning three points against SKC II. CITY2 currently sits atop the MLS NEXT Pro standings with a three-point lead over North Texas SC.

Coming into the match, Vancouver will be riding a five-game win streak of their own. WFC2 sit in 8th place in the MLS NEXT Pro standings and fourth in the Western Conference standings. In their last match, the Whitecaps beat Ventura County FC 3-2 on the road. At home, Vancouver is 5-0-1. WFC2 has scored 27 goals this season with midfielder Eliot Goldthorp sparking the offense, tallying six assists on the season, which is tied for second overall in the league.
