St Louis CITY2 travels to face Real Monarchs on Sunday, July 6 at 8:30 p.m. CT at America First Field, as they look to pick up their seventh consecutive win. The match will be streamed on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.

Last Saturday’s win came from another late goal as Emil Jääskeläinen recorded his fourth goal of the season in the 86th minute, helping CITY2 to their sixth consecutive win. The team closed out June undefeated, scoring nine goals while keeping their opponents to just three and totaling two shutouts. CITY2 now sits at the top of the Western Conference standings with 32 points which puts them in second place in the league’s overall standings, just two points behind New York Bulls II. Additionally, CITY2 earned their tenth victory of the season and sixth clean sheet of 2025.

CITY2 currently holds the longest active win streak in MLS NEXT Pro this season and could match the league record of seven consecutive wins, previously accomplished by Columbus Crew 2 and Crown Legacy FC. Throughout the past six matches, the team has scored an average of three goals per match. The boys have also recorded an average of 2.13 points per game and sit in third place in goals scored in MLS NEXT Pro (29).

St Louis is undefeated all-time against Real Monarchs in their five previous meetings and have scored 14 goals, conceding once. CITY2 beat the Monarchs 2-0 twice in 2022, winning 4-1 and 4-0 in 2023, and most recently defeating them 2-0 in 2024.

Real Monarchs enter Sunday’s contest with a three-match unbeaten streak earning a 2-1 win against Tacoma Defiance, a shootout win versus Houston Dynamo 2, and a 3-2 defeat over Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 on June 29. The Monarchs sit in fifth place in the Western Conference with a 5-2-5 record, dropping one match at home this season.
