St Louis CITY2 will take on Houston Dynamo 2 and look to add their sixth straight win this Saturday, June 28 at 5:30 p.m. CT. The match will be streamed on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
St Louis found the back of the net three times as they defeated The Town FC 3-1 last Sunday night. The win was CITY2’s fifth in a row, propelling them to the top of MLS NEXT Pro Western Conference standings with 29 points. Matteo Kidd scored the first goal of the night before TTFC got on the scoresheet to tie the match 1-1 heading into halftime. Mykhi Joyner earned and converted a penalty in the 83rd minute to give CITY2 the 2-1 lead. Caden Glover secured the 3-1 win for St Louis CITY2 in second half stoppage time as the squad earned another three points. The win was CITY2’s fifth victory at Energizer Park in 2025.
Sunday night was full of milestones as Matteo Kidd tallied his third goal of the season and now has two goals in his last three matches. Mykhi Joyner scored his ninth goal of the season, placing him second in the league for goals scored. Joyner’s goal was his 26th in his professional career and tied him for fifth all-time in goals scored in MLS NEXT Pro history. Caden Glover notched his first goal of the season as well. Seth Antwi earned his second assist of 2025 while Brendan McSorley recorded his team-leading fourth assist. McSorley is tied for third in assists across MLS NEXT Pro.
Team wise, CITY2 moved into third place in MLS NEXT Pro’s regular season goal leaders, putting 27 goals past their opponents. The squad has tallied 17 goals during their five-match win streak. Interim Head Coach John Hackworth picked up his 20th career MLS NEXT Pro win.
Saturday night’s match will be the second meeting between Dynamo Dos and CITY2. St Louis won 3-1, as Emil Jääskeläinen, Brendan McSorley, and Miguel Perez were the squad’s goal scorers at Energizer Park. Houston’s record is 5-5-4, as they have won once away from SaberCats stadium this year.
