St. Louis CITY SC aims to continue their unbeaten streak in MLS when they face D.C. United on Saturday, March 23 at CITYPARK. St. Louis earned a huge point on the road last weekend after tying LA Galaxy 3-3 at Dignity Health Sports Park. Just as they did the match before, CITY SC came from behind twice to secure the tie, rounding out their two-match road trip with two points (0-0-2 record). Both Tomáš Ostrák and Joakim Nilsson notched their first goals of season against the Galaxy, with Nilsson’s bicycle kick goal voted by fans as the ATT Goal of the Matchday.

Roman Bürki played an instrumental role in the team securing a point, making timely saves throughout the match to keep the team level. Bürki’s six-save performance earned him a spot on the MLS Team of the Matchday.

With six points in the bank after four MLS matches (1-0-3 record), CITY SC sits in sixth place in the Western Conference standings, four points behind early leader Minnesota United FC. CITY SC has recorded the fourth most shots (66) in the league and averages five shots on target, which is tied for ninth in the league.

Going back to last season, St. Louis CITY SC is unbeaten in the month of February and March, posting an overall record of 6-0-3 with this season’s games included. During this span, CITY SC scored 23 goals and conceded 10.

St. Louis earned their first win of the season against New York City FC at CITYPARK on Matchday 2. St. Louis has a 12-4-3 all-time MLS record at CITYPARK and are 5-3-0 all-time against Eastern Conference teams.

Fans will recognize two familiar faces in Lucas Bartlett and Jared Stroud, who were members of St. Louis CITY SC’s inaugural MLS team last season. Bartlett and Stroud went to D.C. United via a trade that saw midfielder Chris Durkin join CITY SC. Bartlett made 17 appearances for CITY SC while Stroud made 37 appearances, tallying five goals and five assists. Durkin has featured in all six of CITY SC's matches across all competitions.

This weekend’s match will see CITY SC face D.C. United for the first time in club history. D.C. United comes into the match with a 1-1-2 record, scoring six goals and conceding six. Troy Lesesne, who is in his first season at the club, joined D.C United after serving as interim head coach last season for New York Red Bulls. Lesesne earned his first win on Matchday 1, defeating New England Revolution 3-1. Forward Christian Benteke leads the team with three goals and Aaron Herrera leads the assists chart with two.
