St. Louis CITY SC are back home to face Western Conference rivals Seattle Sounders on Saturday at CITYPARK. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. CT with the match streaming live on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app. Fans can also listen via radio on KYKY Y98.1 FM (English) and KXOK 102.9 FM (Spanish).

St. Louis will be looking to improve their record against Seattle Sounders. With a record of 0-0-2 against the Sounders, CITY SC will look to earn their first win over Seattle Sounders after facing defeat in their two matches last season.

CITY SC is coming off a 3-1 loss to last season’s Supporters’ Shield winners FC Cincinnati. Despite the loss, Hosei Kijima made a huge individual milestone in his young career by making his first MLS start. Akil Watts also made his first appearance and start of the 2024 MLS season.

St. Louis tasted defeat for the first time at CITYPARK this season, falling to LAFC in their last home match. In seven home matches, CITY SC has a 3-1-3 record with nine goals scored and six goals conceded.

St. Louis is tied for second in generating the most shot attempts (214) with D.C. United, with both teams trailing LAFC by four shot attempts. Across their home matches this season, St. Louis have outshot their opponents 122-58. Per OPTA, St. Louis has generated 347 shot-creating actions (the two offensive actions directly leading to a shot), which is the fifth most in the league.

St. Louis has seen 10 different goal scorers in league play this season in the first 13 games. Across the entire regular season last year, 16 players found the back of the net for St. Louis.

Another key storyline will be the battle in goals between the two Swiss stoppers Roman Bürki and Stefan Frei. Last season, Frei led the league in clean sheets with 16 while Bürki led the league in goals prevented with a plus-9.1 Post-Shot Expected Goals minus Goals Allowed. This season, Bürki is tied for fourth in clean sheets (4), with three of his clean sheets coming at home. Bürki has made a total of 34 saves this season.

In their last 10 regular season road matches, the Seattle Sounders have a record of 3-5-2, with their five road losses coming this season. The Sounders have scored 10 goals and conceded 13 in that span. After starting the season on a five-match road winless streak (0-4-1 record), the Sounders have won two of their last three away matches, losing the last one 2-0 to Real Salt Lake.
