St. Louis CITY SC fell 2-1 last Saturday in a close match against MLS’ newest expansion team, San Diego FC. The score remained even through the first half, but San Diego struck first in the 79th minute with a goal from Milan Iloski. SDFC went on to add another goal seven minutes later. Kyle Hiebert got his first goal of the season for CITY SC in stoppage time, but it was not enough as San Diego FC picked up the win and three points.

This will be the 10th all-time meeting between the two clubs. CITY SC lost 2-0 in April at Children's Mercy Park but holds a 3-2-2 edge in regular-season matchups.
