Last time Out

St. Louis CITY SC booked their place in the U.S. Open Cup Round of 16 with a commanding 2-0 win over Union Omaha on Wednesday night at Energizer Park. Making his club debut, MLS SuperDraft pick Joey Zalinsky opened the scoring with a stunning long-range strike that would stand as the game-winner. João Klauss added an insurance goal late in the match, slotting home a well-placed assist from Cedric Teuchert to secure the clean sheet victory for CITY.

St. Louis CITY SC vs San Diego FC

In their first-ever meeting with San Diego FC, St. Louis CITY SC battled to a hard-fought draw on the road at Snapdragon Stadium earlier this season. While the match ended scoreless, CITY’s defensive performance stood out, holding San Diego to just one shot on target. The match also marked a historic occasion as San Diego FC’s inaugural home game at Snapdragon Stadium.

Scouting San Diego

San Diego FC enters the match riding high after a 5-0 victory over FC Dallas, their biggest win in club history. The performance matched the second-largest margin of victory ever by an MLS expansion team in a regular-season game. Attackers Hirving Lozano (2 goals, 1 assist) and Anders Dreyer (1 goal, 2 assists) were instrumental in the Dallas win, each contributing three goals. They are the first expansion-team duo to achieve that feat in a match since Latif Blessing and Adama Diomande did so for LAFC in 2018.

Despite early road success with back-to-back away wins against LA Galaxy and Real Salt Lake, SDFC is currently on a three-game road losing streak.
