St. Louis CITY SC is heading west for a showdown with Colorado Rapids on Sunday at 8:30 p.m. CT. Fans can stream the match on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app, with radio coverage available on KYKY Y98.1 FM (English) and KXOK 102.9 FM (Spanish).

The match will be CITY SC’s second contest of the week, after the team beat San Jose Earthquakes 2-0 on Wednesday at CITYPARK. Eduard Löwen broke the scoreless deadlock with a goal in the 28th minute, and then Hosei Kijima added to the lead through his first-ever MLS goal, which came just before halftime. Indiana Vassilev assisted both goals in the match. CITY SC is now a perfect 3-0-0 across its three all-time matches against San Jose.

Eduard Löwen scored for a second consecutive match, pushing his goal contribution total to six on the season (3 goals, 3 assists). Indiana Vassilev also recorded at least one goal contribution for a second straight contest, notching assists on both of CITY SC’s goals to give him seven goal contributions on the season (3 goals, 4 assists).

Vassilev’s second assist came on a set piece feed to Hosei Kijima, who slotted the ball home for his first-ever MLS goal. The goal was the MLS SuperDraft 2024 first round selection’s second goal for CITY SC across all competitions this year.

Colorado bested St. Louis in the teams’ encounter earlier this season at CITYPARK, but it was just the first all-time loss suffered by CITY SC against the Rapids. The two sides met twice last season, including a 1-1 draw in the matchup in Colorado. Three different players (Rasmus Alm, Tim Parker and Jared Stroud) have accounted for CITY SC’s three all-time goals against the Rapids.

Despite dropping its last away match against Vancouver, CITY SC recorded its fifth multi-goal road game of the season. Out of those five matches, it was the fourth time St. Louis netted three goals on the road, tying the team with Inter Miami, Los Angeles Galaxy, Columbus Crew, Minnesota United FC and Philadelphia Union for the most such games in MLS.

Colorado comes into the match following a 2-1 win against Sporting Kansas City on Thursday. The Rapids currently sit fourth in the West with a 10-8-4 record overall and 6-2-2 record at home on the season.
