Match Preview | St. Louis CITY SC Back at Home to Take on FC Dallas

St. Louis CITY SC are back at CITYPARK this Saturday to take on FC Dallas. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. CST. Fans can watch the match live on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app and follow on KYKY Y98.1 FM (English) and KXOK 102.9 FM (Spanish).

St. Louis CITY SC heads into the match with a record of 1-1-4 and seven points in the bank. Earlier this season, St. Louis became the first expansion team in MLS history to start their first two seasons unbeaten through the first five matches and the fifth team to go unbeaten over the first five games in back-to-back season in MLS history.

Last time out, CITY SC fell 3-1 against Real Salt Lake at America First Field. Indiana Vassilev scored his first goal of the season to give CITY SC the lead, but Cristian Arango scored a second half hattrick to secure the points for the home team.

Vassilev’s goal which was clocked at two minutes and three seconds into the match, marked the quickest goal scored in CITY SC history. Vassilev became the eighth different goal scorer in MLS play for CITY SC this season, tying the team with Sporting Kansas City and Vancouver Whitecaps for the most different goal scorers in the league.

Tim Parker has been a constant in CITY SC’s backline since joining the team in the inaugural season. Parker has played and started in 33 regular season games for St. Louis CITY SC, scoring four goals in the process. In the last match against Real Salt Lake, Parker made his 250th MLS appearance. Among active MLS players, Parker ranks 36th in regular –season appearances.

CITY SC has won one and tied two matches at home so far in league play this season, scoring five goals and recording a clean sheet. St. Louis has a 12-4-4 record all-time MLS record at CITYPARK. CITY SC has only lost once in their last nine regular season home matches and are unbeaten in their last four home matches across all competitions.

The match will mark the third meeting between the two sides with both teams locked at one win apiece. CITY SC fell 2-0 in Dallas in the first fixture and won 2-1 at CITYPARK in the second matchup. In the match at CITYPARK, both Anthony Markanich and Nökkvi Thórisson scored their first goals for CITY SC.

FC Dallas has scored six goals, conceded 10 and has a 1-4-0 record. After winning their opening match of the season, Dallas is on a four-match losing streak dating back to March 2.
